Our God is Greater

Thaddeus and I kicked off our 2nd annual "Forty Days of Praise" tour this past Sunday. In 3 days, we've traveled through 10 states. We've been driving hard to get out to Tuscon, AZ to play a few dates with our friends in the Emmaus Band. I've been on the road for only a half a week now, but I have to say that one of the things that always gets me about a cross-country road trip is the grandeur of God's creation. Thaddeus, who always does a great job of documenting things, has been taking some pictures. Today he decided to wake up and drive out to Mt. Lemon to see it up close. Although he didn't get any climbing in, the pictures he took were amazing!
He got back today around noon and we went to "El Guero Canelo" which is Spanish for something. I'll have to ask my daughters when I get back home. The lunch was awesome! Some of the best Mexican food I've had in a long time!
Next, David Mares, guitarist from Emmaus drove us downtown and showed us some of the sights. The Cathedral of St. Augustine was beautiful as one would expect. There was a very playful stage in the courtyard outside. David said that the Emmaus band played there last year for the youth rally. Maybe someday I'll be able to play there!
When one gets to take a road trip one can begin to see the diversity of creation. We drove through the hills of Alabama, through a great Texas rainstorm (including some hail), and through the desert and mountains of New Mexico. It is all so beautiful and reminds me, especially as we begin this season of Lent of my own small-ness.

Michael is really worth checking out. I saw him at our parish hall for a free concert for our youth at La Purisima Catholic Church in Lompoc, CA. He doesn't just talk the talk he walks the walk. I was so inspired by his music I can't stop singing them in my head. His spirit is so true and pure. Check him out, he will make you laugh and make you cry but all he says is the truth. God bless you all my friends and my family
