Providing a Backdrop for an Encounter with the Divine

Seeing a need in the church for relevant music and joy-filled faith, Michael began traveling the United States sharing his music and speaking. His music stands at the intersection of the church and culture, drawing from pop influences like Michael Jackson and U2 and worship influences like Hillsong and Matt Maher. The sound is both playfully innocent and deceptively deep. Michael's unique style is most clear in the live events.

His immersive concert experience combines technology, testimony, lights, & video to provide a backdrop for an encounter with the divine. Ambient Adoration uses live looping and ambient beats to evoke emotion and energy while in the Real Presence of Christ. Retreats and missions take a more academic approach while breaking open topics of faith.

Michael James Mette

over 25 years experience

Starting out in parish youth ministry over 25 years ago, Michael quickly recognized the powerful combination of the Holy Spirit, Eucharistic Adoration, and worship music. Adding in his own talents of technology and teaching has allowed me to serve the church in a unique way.

The school children LOVED the Friday concert and many begged their parents to come back for the Saturday concert.
— -Sr. Mary Grace
Michael’s music at worship is at once soulful, inviting, and congregationally friendly. It springs from his creativity, prayer and Scripture.
— -Fr. M. Lydon
I have been to concerts at big venues for people that normally play on the secular radio and I still liked your concert more. I (wanted to) let you know that your two concerts in San Antonio were the best I have ever been to.
— M. Gutierrez

Original Music

Michael's album, “Exile” explores a dark feeling of emptiness and its counterbalance of forgiveness and faith. "Between the Lines" embraces an indie-pop sound with worship sensibilities. "Arts + Humanity" lies at the intersection of culture and church while "Bring Forth the Light" explores doubt and despair in the modern world.  "Always What I Need" invites simple trust in God's providence.
