What is the longest that we have stayed in one location in the two years that we have been traveling?
14 days...
Even when Truman was born, Michael was on the road. Even compared to other full-time RVers, we are on the move, a lot. Other full time RVers settle in one location for a month or two so that they can get into a routine and take in the sites. We are often in a new location 4 times a week.
Until now!
We have signed on for a 9 week commitment this summer! Michael will be the music and media manager for Camp Tekakwitha at Prairie Star Ranch in the Archdiocese of Kansas City. He was recommended for the position because of his experience with lighting and video editing as well as leading music and worship.
I have to admit that 9 weeks of summer camp would not usually be our cup of tea. As we started exploring the idea, it just worked! A lot of things fell into place for us to be here, and we really feel like it will be a blessing. We pray that we can do our jobs to the best of our ability to glorify God.
We hope it will be a great opportunity to let the kids get out and stretch their legs. They get to enjoy many of the attraction that are on-site. Michael is keeping very busy learning the ropes, but as he settles into a routine, he hopes to use any extra time to re-program his live show to include more video. With the kids entertained, I have some free time to catch up on all the paperwork that has been piling up the past 6 months.
In August, we will hit the road again - until then, enjoy a few pictures of camp!
