Church History

This is what a church from 1891 look like. Built by the Carmelites, nestled in a Bayou of Louisiana, it was hand painted by Fr. Marianus Nyssen. Although the Carmelites are gone, the chapel remains the pride and joy of the Catholic community that surrounds it. Even the intricate paint-job has been recently restored by a parishioner.

We were luck enough to visit St. Joseph for an afternoon of planting and picnic. It was a filled with joy!
