Studio A Project - Acoustic Panels
Now, moved into Studio A, we manage to have no shortage of projects. Top on the list is acoustic treatments. Michael has done a fair amount of research on this. The material that he needed to complete the treatment was the same material that they use for insulated ductwork.
“You paid for the whole box, I only need 2 sheets,” the HVAC guy told us. That was enough to get us working. We made 3 styles:
The first would double as speaker stands for the Studio monitors. They are more of a diffuser. The round side deflect sound off in many directions in order to prevent one frequency from ringing out. We used this tutorial as a guide.
The second is a similar design, but it is a semi-circle so that it can be hung on a wall. We used this tutorial for ideas.
The third type was an absorber. It is basically the foam insulation put into a frame and upholstered. We based ours off this tutorial.
