Camino De Santiago

Michael and I were looking for opportunities to strengthen our marriage and we had the idea to walk the Camino de Santiago (The Way of St. James). It was the perfect combination of bonding time and spiritual renewal. There are many variations of this pilgrimage (ranging from 75 miles to 491 miles through France), but all of the routes end up at the Cathedral de Santiago in Spain. I filled our backpacks and we were off to walk 200 miles hike across Northern Spain!

Starting Point of Camino Primitivo

The Camino is an amazing way to travel. The walking gave us a balance of structure and spontaneity. We had plenty of conversation time with each other as well as people from many different cultures. The hike gave us time to think and process on our own. We encountered some great views, and enjoyed good food. We walked in the rain, the sun, we got food poisoning, we overcame challenges and offered up our struggles for your prayer requests. In the end, Michael responded to 129 prayer intentions on social media and 57 prayer intentions via email.  He offered up one mile of his journey for each of these requests.
