Fidelity Update

Only good news here! As you may remember, Fidelity was born two years ago and was soon diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome. We are basically in the easy phase with her now. She eats well and gains weight but has not quite reached that hyperphagia (always hungry) phase yet. They give her an evaluation every 6 months in all of her therapies (physical, occupational, speech, developmental). If she did not have her diagnosis, she would need a 30% delay to qualify for therapies. So at 24 months of age, she would need to be acting like a 16-17 month old. They tested her in about 12 categories and in ONE of those she had a delay greater than 30%, that was the actual talking portion of her speech.  I think she had ZERO delay in 4 categories and around 20-25% in the others. She is clearly a bit behind her peers, but it is exciting to see her start to understand, communicate, play, and to see her personality emerge even more.
